Great minds think alike… Unfortunately, some are a bit greater than others…

Right after my lame post on LinkedIn, Guy Kawasaki goes and writes a great article on the top ten (really 11) ways to use LinkedIn…

Ten Ways to Use LinkedIn

Web 2.0 is addictive - Linked in

Tuesday, January 2nd, 2007

I admit it. I am addicted to Linked in. It’s like crack. It sucks you in and makes you want to keep expanding your network. As soon as you connect with someone it opens up a whole new group of potential connections. When I create a new connection, I immediately go and see who that person knows and which contacts we have in common. It’s like a scavenger hunt. I have spent way too much time on linked in… I’m just lucky it’s free.

Good things about linked in:

I have reconnected with lots of old colleagues and friends.
I have a database of contact info that’s constantly updated and mostly accurate.

(Potentially) Bad things about linked in:

I have given away a goldmine of information to anyone who cares to look (all my contacts). The people who run linked-in are sitting on one of the most up-to-date and active databases of job candidates in the world.

How will this thing be used against me?
